The Advanced Journal of Science and Innovation (AJSI) is committed to safeguarding research integrity and maintaining high standards of scholarly publishing. All submitted manuscripts must represent original work and must comply with the journal’s ethical and editorial requirements.
The journal does not accept plagiarism, substantial unattributed text reuse, duplicate or redundant publication, undisclosed prior publication, data fabrication, data falsification, image manipulation, citation manipulation, or any other form of research or publication misconduct.

1. Originality of Submitted Work
By submitting a manuscript to AJSI, the corresponding author confirms that:
• The manuscript is original and has been prepared by the listed authors.
• The work has not been published previously in any journal, book, or other formal publication, except where prior dissemination has been fully disclosed.
• The manuscript is not under review, accepted, or being considered for publication elsewhere.
• All sources, data, methods, figures, tables, and ideas taken from other work have been properly acknowledged and cited.
• All authors have reviewed and approved the submitted version of the manuscript.
Authors must disclose any closely related manuscripts, preprints, conference abstracts, theses, reports, datasets, or previously published material that may overlap with the submitted work.

2. Similarity Screening
Manuscripts may be screened for textual similarity before peer review, during peer review, after revision, or after publication when a concern is raised.
Similarity screening is used as an editorial-support tool. A similarity percentage alone does not determine whether a manuscript is acceptable or whether plagiarism has occurred. Editorial assessment considers the nature, location, extent, and source of the overlapping material.
For example, limited similarity in references, standard methodological language, legal statements, or properly quoted and cited material may be acceptable. However, substantial unattributed overlap in the abstract, introduction, results, discussion, conclusions, data, figures, tables, or intellectual contribution may constitute a serious ethical concern.

3. Forms of Unacceptable Conduct
The following practices are not acceptable:
• Copying or closely paraphrasing another author’s words, ideas, methods, data, figures, tables, images, or results without appropriate citation and acknowledgment.
• Presenting another person’s research, intellectual contribution, or unpublished material as one’s own.
• Submitting the same manuscript, or a substantially similar manuscript, to more than one journal at the same time.
• Republishing a previously published article, in whole or in substantial part, without clear disclosure, permission, justification, and appropriate cross-referencing.
• Reusing substantial portions of an author’s own previously published work without proper citation and explanation of the relationship between the publications.
• Fabricating, altering, selectively reporting, or falsifying research data, results, images, tables, or figures.
• Manipulating images in a way that misrepresents the original research findings.
• Adding authors who did not make a substantial scholarly contribution, omitting eligible contributors, or misrepresenting author contributions.
• Manipulating citations to inflate citation counts or to provide an inappropriate advantage to an author, journal, editor, or institution.
• Failing to disclose relevant financial support, competing interests, ethical approval, or informed-consent requirements.

4. Editorial Assessment and Investigation
When a similarity or misconduct concern is identified, the editorial team will assess the available information confidentially and fairly.
Depending on the nature and seriousness of the concern, AJSI may:
• Request clarification, explanation, or supporting documentation from the corresponding author.
• Request a corrected manuscript with appropriate citations, quotations, permissions, or attribution.
• Require revision of text, references, authorship information, declarations, figures, tables, or data statements.
• Suspend editorial processing or peer review while the concern is assessed.
• Reject the manuscript before peer review or after peer review.
• Contact the authors’ institution, funding body, another journal editor, publisher, or other relevant authority when serious misconduct is reasonably supported by evidence.
• Take other actions necessary to protect the integrity of the scholarly record.
Authors are expected to cooperate fully and respond promptly to editorial inquiries concerning originality, data, ethics, authorship, or prior publication.

5. Manuscripts Under Review
If a substantial ethical concern is identified before publication, the manuscript may be rejected. The editorial decision will be based on the seriousness of the concern, the authors’ explanation, and the evidence available.
Minor and unintentional errors may be handled through revision when the manuscript remains scientifically sound and the issue can be corrected transparently. Serious, repeated, deliberate, or unexplained misconduct may result in rejection.

6. Published Articles
Concerns raised after publication will be reviewed by the editorial team. AJSI may publish an appropriate notice when necessary to preserve the reliability of the academic record.
Possible actions include:
• Correction: issued when a limited error or omission can be corrected and the main findings remain reliable.
• Expression of Concern: issued when there is a potentially serious concern, but the available evidence is inconclusive or an investigation is ongoing.
• Retraction: issued when findings are unreliable because of major error, fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, redundant publication, unethical research, or other serious publication misconduct.
A retracted article will normally remain accessible as part of the scholarly record but will be clearly identified as retracted, together with a retraction notice explaining the reason where appropriate.

7. Author Responsibilities
Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy, originality, ethical integrity, and proper attribution of all submitted material.
Before submission, authors should verify that:
• Every cited source is accurate and complete.
• All reused material is properly cited and, where necessary, used with permission.
• Direct quotations are clearly indicated.
• All figures, tables, images, datasets, and supplementary files are original or properly licensed and attributed.
• Any overlap with previous work is disclosed in the cover letter or manuscript.
• All authors approve the submission and agree with the order of authorship.
• Ethical approval, informed consent, funding information, and conflicts of interest are reported where applicable.

8. Confidentiality and Fairness
AJSI will handle allegations of plagiarism or research misconduct as confidentially as possible. Editors, reviewers, and editorial staff must avoid conflicts of interest and must not disclose confidential manuscript information except where necessary for a fair and appropriate investigation.
Editorial decisions will be based on evidence, scholarly integrity, and the seriousness of the concern, not on the authors’ nationality, institution, gender, personal relationships, or other irrelevant factors.

9. Publication-Ethics Principles
AJSI’s editorial practice is informed by recognized international principles of publication ethics and research integrity. The journal aims to maintain transparent procedures for suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication, authorship concerns, corrections, expressions of concern, and retractions. Major publishers commonly use similarity checking as a screening aid and use editorial investigation—rather than a fixed similarity threshold alone—to determine appropriate action.

10. Reporting a Concern
Readers, reviewers, authors, editors, and institutions may report a suspected ethical concern relating to a submitted or published manuscript. Reports should provide sufficient information and, where possible, supporting evidence so that the editorial team can assess the matter appropriately.
